The treatment of tumors is based on numerous scientific studies. To know exactly how to treat each cancer case, one has the tumors to spread and malignancy (malignancy) is divided into stages. It was an international system, the so-called TNM system created. It classifies almost all malignant neoplasms. In the TNM classification, only the malignant hemoblastoses, such as Leukemia and brain tumors, not included.

In the TNM system, the tumor spread (staging) assessed:

  • T = tumor size, with T for small tumors of T1 to T3 or T4 enough for large tumors.
  •  N = lymph nodes: N1 is the involvement of lymph nodes in the vicinity of the tumor, N2 and N3 to attack   more distant lymph nodes.
  • M = metastases (secondary tumors): M1 states that have formed somewhere in the body metastases.
  • G = histological classification (grading) to malignancy (malignancy) of the tumor: G1 (low virulence) to G4 (severe malignancy).
