Introduction: Meniere's disease or MD, as it is better known in medical terms, is the disease, with respect to the inner part of the ear, in support of change in the level of fluid in the inner ear of the so-called labyrinth, including the membranous labyrinth bony labyrinth. The disease can affect hearing and balance and is defined by episodes of vertigo, tinnitus and progressive hearing loss, usually in one ear. The disease is named after the French physician Prosper Meniere, was the first report on an article published in 1861, that dizziness was caused by the inner ear disorders.

Nature of the disease: the different types of Meniere's disease is not thoroughly known or not yet defined.

Causes: The doctors have their individual opinions about the causes of Meniere's disease. But most researchers believe that the so-called symptoms of these diseases are usually due to idiopathic endolymphatic hydrops which means that excess endolymphatic fluid - the inner one of two liquids through the cause is not known precisely, so "idiopathic". This theory means that acute attacks occur when excessive potassium-rich endolymphatic fluid product discharge by the separation of membrane proteins in sodium-rich perilymphatic fluid, which contains the other inner ear fluid.

When the head moves, endo-fluid in the membranous labyrinth shifts say nerve-signal receptors in the brain about body movements. If the height of the improved Endo, physicians believe that stretching the membranous labyrinth balloons or May and then when it breaks, endo-May-fluid mix with perilymph fluid in the bony labyrinth, which ultimately causes the symptoms of Meniere's.

Symptoms: The most common symptoms of these diseases can be: dizziness, nausea, vomiting, instability, a sense of completeness in the ear, ringing in the ear - tinnitus, headache, abdominal distress and hearing loss, increase security, if the disease progresses. Such symptoms can result in three different phases of the severity of the disease and can progress occur at different frequencies with the magnitude and power. Usually the attacks abruptly and permanently for a few hours, but the first episode last May for more than 24 hours, even following attacks may not work. Sleep disorders can also be experienced.

Diagnosis: The disease is characterized not by their symptoms, as there are many diseases that have similar symptoms. The differential diagnosis with diagnostic tests is recommended for the correct diagnosis.

Treatment: Treatment of this disease usually food and medicine but drug therapy is only symptomatic relief. The low-salt diet and diuretics can help decrease the frequency of their attacks in some patients.
