Making a general statement about the effectiveness of yoga is difficult, since there are a variety of applications and as many different forms of yoga. The classical Yoga is scientifically recognized and encouraged by many health insurance companies.
On the positive effects of yoga as a supportive measure in the treatment of high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis, back pain, and tuberculosis, there are already studies. As the sole treatment of diseases, however, yoga is not advisable.
The use of yoga in case of complaints, for example, with the aim of lowering blood pressure should be discussed with a doctor in every case.
