Risks and complications

Side effects with acupuncture to be expected only rarely. Locally it may be a temporary skin redness, a sensation of warmth or (rarely) to discomfort. Also rarely occur hematoma. Especially with longer needles lying (ear acupuncture), infections occur at the injection sites. In the first two to three treatments may be (as in homeopathy) worsen the symptoms temporarily.
